Hew Hamilton-Dalrymple 1888- vg), v.1 p.285 "Besides his legitimate children, Morton left four bastard sons—(1) James Douglas, who was lay-prior of Pluscardine for a while, and married Anna, daughter and heiress of George Home of Spott, by whom he had issue. He was forfeited after his father's death, and restored with his brothers in 1585. In 1592 he was arraigned on a charge of treason in connection with the rebellious proceedings of Francis, Earl of Bothwell, suffered forfeiture a second time,1 and was restored again in 1603."
