James Gibbon

James Gibbon entered the army in Philadelphia as ensign; was taken prisoner at Fort Washington, 1776; was promoted lieutenant, 1777. He was complimented by Congress, 1779, and brevetted Captain for gallant conduct in leading the Forlorn Hope at Stony Point. He was born in Ireland; died 1835 in Moundsville, VA.
