James and Elizabeth Williams Gresham were married in April 1745. They stated on their first land deed in Goochland during Oct. 1745 that they were "from King and Queen County".

Children:
Note: Joseph Gresham b. Abt 1734-1738 (might be from James' 1st marriage or be his theorized nephew, son of George and Sarah Dunweddie)
Joseph was legally required to teach the carpenter trade to Grymes Holcomb, son of Barbara Holcomb under an indenture from the Albemarle Court dated 1763. He would have to be established to do this.

Joseph purchased land in Goochland from Sylvesta Profitt in 1763 and had to be at least 18. He then sold this land in 1765 and applied for a land Patent 1766 in Burke County, Georgia which was finalized in 1768.
In the beginning of the will of James Gresham, he bequeaths to "my five sons" which would leave Joseph out, then at the end he includes him with "all my children" like you would do for an adopted child, stepchild or nephew.
