JAMES HAMILTON OF DALZIEL

James Hamilton of Dalziel is the son of Alexander Hamilton of Dalziel and his wife Bethia Henderson. Hamilton Memoirs He was born before 13 September 1670, the date upon which his baptism was registered at Dalziel in Lanarkshire, Scotland. His baptismal Record reads as follows: "baptized James Hamiltoun son to Allex. Hamiltoun of Dalzell." [National Records of Scotland, Dalziel Baptismal Records, 1648-1819, reference OPR.639/1 9]

Death

James Hamilton of Dalziel died at 18.30 hours in the evening of 29 March 1727. His death record reads as follows: "Dyed James Hamiltone Laird of Dalzell about half six att night." [National Records of Scotland, Dalziel Death Records, 1697-1749, reference OPR.638/1 199]
