About James Quein Irwin
Son of Madison Irwin and Christianna (Quein) Irwin. Named for his maternal grandfather, James Quein. Died as a result of disease onboard a hospital ship in Evansville, after being evacuated following the Siege of Vicksburg. Served with "Durrell's Battery"- Independent Battery 'D' Pa. Vol. Lt. Artillery. Exact location of his gravesite currently unknown. He is located in one of 2-3 Union graves marked as "unknown" at Oak Hill cemetery.
