James Jackson Jack was born 1884 in Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland, son of Andrew Allan Jack and Jeanie 'Jane' Pollock Scott (Jackson) Jack.

He married Marion Dunipace Brownlie. Their children are Andrew (1915) and Gavin Dunipace Brownlie (1920) Jack.

On December 24, 1946, James J. Jack, age 62, died in Stonehouse. His headstone is in the family lair in Stonehouse Cemetery, Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
