James "Jim" Dudley Pankhurst

James Dudley Pankhurst was born November 1, 1866 in Upshur County, Texas, son of John Pankhurst and Elizabeth Temperance (Lindsey) Pankhurst. He is the brother of Charles H. (1861), John R. (1863), Mary Frances "Fannie" (1869) and Sarah Elizabeth (1871) Pankhurst. He became known as "Jim".

On July 29, 1888, he married Mattie Lee Elrod in Ewell, Upshur County, Texas. The children born into their Pankhurst family included an infant son (1890), Willie Lee, (1891), Roy Franklin (1894), Fannie Pearl (1897), James Scott (1899), Ruby Dee (1901), Walter Boyd (1904), Amye Lorene (1906), Jeffie Durene (1910) and Esther Elisabeth (1916) Pankhurst.

On September 13, 1947, James "Jim" D. Pankhurst died in LaFayette, TX, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, LaFayette, Upshur County, Texas.
