About James Woodburn Kenyon

The son of Samuel Maxson & Eliza Jane (Kincaid) Kenyon, in 1860, he was a farmer living in Dickinson Township, Cumberland County. He stood 5' 6" tall and had dark hair and gray eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Oakville, Cumberland County, August 30, 1864, mustered into federal service in Harrisburg September 3 with Co. F, 207th Pennsylvania Infantry, at the rank of private, and honorably discharged with his company on May 31, 1865.

He married Jennie Eliza "Jane" Black December 25, 1866, in Huntsdale, Cumberland County, and fathered Charles Edwin (b. 07/18/64), Margaret (b. 03/??/72), Anna Gertrude (b. 02/23/74, d. 04/04/77), William McCarrell (b. 04/03/76), Mary Edith (b. 11/20/79), Esther Edith (b. 07/01/83), and Jane Black (b. 07/19/87 or 89).
