In a 1774 will of of James Latimer in which he leaves to his son , James two tracts of land called Putney and Gore's addition, and to another son Marcus, a tract of land called Maycock's Rest.

He married a lady named Hannah, daughter of James Cantrell of Charles Co., SC a very wealthy and prominent citizen.

Will of James Latimer 11/12/1774-12/6/1774, Charles Co. Old and infirm.

He named his children--James Latimer of St. Mary's Co. to whom he

devised "Putney" and "Gore's Addition"; son, Marcus Latimer to whom he

devised "Maycock's Rest", 88 ac.; daughter, Rebecca King; granddaughter,

Ann King, dau. of Rebecca (under 21); daughter, Elizabeth Alder. He

also referred to his poor neighbor, Henry Winstead. Wit: John

McPhearson, David Philpott, John Philpott.
