James W. McFarland

James W. "Coon" McFarland, was the oldest child of Mathew M. and Mary "Dick" McFarland.

Madison County, Mississippi, Marriage Records, indicates James married Rebecca Frizell on April 23, 1854. This Frizell Family at one time lived in Simpson County, Kentucky.

James and Becky, were the parent's of four children, the family can be found on the 1860 and 1870 census, for Simpson, County, Kentucky, and the 1880 census, for Cherokee County, Kansas. James is listed with his parent's in the 1850 census, for Logan County, Kentucky.

It should be noted that this particular McFarland/McFarlin family were notorious for using both spelling's of this surname, at different times, the same individual would use a different spelling on different documents.

James W. McFarland, was my great grand father's brother.
