Evidently was very successful businessman as his father's will indicates: "[My son] James the Elder, God hath been pleased to bless him in his labours & indeavours and I have been helpfull to him so that he is verry well to pass in his Estate farre beyond myself: I do therefore in this my last will and testament give to my eldest Son James Peas twelve pence." [No land given as his brother received.]

1667 - granted 1/6 of Holmes Hole - Dukes 1:239 1669 - sold 200 acres + at Holmes Hole Neck for "20 shillings in money and and Seven Pounds in Goods Att Boston Such goods As the Said Pease Shall Require At Price There To Be had for At Price Current" to Thomas Trapp - Dukes 5:361 1685 - bought of Thomas Daggett 10 acres in Planting Field & 2 acres of meadow, etc. in Edgartown - Dukes 1:330 1711 makes out his will - Dukes 1:85-8 1712/3 - granted land to son Nathaniel and Abigail his wife 20 acres in the new purchase adjoining the old purchase - along the line of the path from the Wading place to the Plain - Dukes 3:321/2 1719 - will proven - Dukes 1:88-9 1719 inventory - Dukes 1:151-2 1724 sons-in-law claim against the estate was rejected - Dukes 3:155 (stevespeeps)
