MARRIAGE 1850: James Chase (Chase on marriage cert, Case on death cert & baptism) married Mary Sercombe in East Grinstead, Sussex, in 1850, probably in the parish of Worth where they were living in 1851 RICHARDSON James Chase and Mary Sercombe marriage registered Q1 1851, East Grinstead, vol 7, page 423.

James was a career policeman so moved around a bit. Mary was born in Bath, Somerset, @1828. They had the following chn; Ann A Richardson (1851) b. Sedlescombe, Sussex. William (1853) Sedlescombe James E (1855), Catsfield, Sussex Betsy (1857), Catsfield Lewis Richard (known as Richard) (1860), Catsfield George (1862), Catsfield Mary (1864), Catsfield Charles Edward(1866), East Grinstead, Sussex Jane (1868), East Grinstead There are several baptisms for children of James Case and his wife at Catsfield.

Index of Wills and Administrations 1861-1941, probate 11 July 1907, died 25 June 1907. RICHARDSON James of Rose Cottage Peasmarsh near Rye, died 25 June 1907, to Charles George Cosens plumber. Effects LSD 191/16/8 Death transcript attached. Interesting he left nothing to all those children, especially Richard who lived with him most of his life, unless Charles Cosens is more like a trustee who distributes the estate. He married Mary Sercombe and they had 9 children.
