James Robertson, Sr

Caution: There is massive confusion between this man and James Robertson.

His 1751 will devised his lands and goods to his wife Rebeckah (home place and 240 acre plantation) and their 12 children, William (160 acres where he then lived), Thomas (the same land if William died without male issue), James (the homeplace and land in succession to his mother Rebeckah), Rebeckah, Mary, Sarah, Ester, Martha, Jean, Elizabeth and Susanna (each a share in the residue of his otherwise undevised livestock, goods, chattels), and to Matthew, the last named, 240 acres of land next to James Bell, his loom and tacklings, and rifle.

Moved to Colraine, Ireland sometime in childhood or early adulthood. He married Rebecca Royston in Colraine, Ireland in 1706. They had a number of children. In late 1737, or 1738 they set sail for America on a bondage ship as documented n "Bondage Servants" publication, page 680. Arrived in Staunton, VA in 1738.
