Jessie Belle Starr married John Turner Dameron.
John Caleb Starr, who was one of the best, if not the best, stenographers and penmen among the Cherokees, was the secretary to the Cherokee Commissioners that made the final roll of the tribe. When this task was finished he was admitted to the bar and became actively interested in oil production. He is at present one of the largest land owners in Oklahoma and his oil interests are so large that he requires a large office to house his records and employs a stenographer and bookkeeper, besides doing an immense amount of the executive and clerical work himself. His hobby is farming. An omniverous worker, a tireless student and an analytical thinker, Mr. Starr is always a man of the people and progressive citizen. His son, James Clarence Starr, has won lau rels as an orator in the eastern colleges.

CHARLES AUSTIN AUGUSTUS "GUS" RIDER
Rider-Mr. Gus Rider, an old and highly respected citizen of this section, died at his home in Goingsnake District on the 24th of December. Mr. Rider was an "Old Timer" in the Cherokee Nation, having lived here for more than 60 years---coming from the Old Cherokee Nation in Tennessee, when quite a boy. A singular coincidence is that deceased wrote to Hickory Starr, another Old Timer who lived in Delaware District, that he would spend Christmas Day with him, but as the above mention, Mr. Rider died Christmas Eve and Mr. Starr Christmas morn. It was always a source of pleasure for those old people to get together and tell reminiscences---telks of early days about the old nation and here too. The STANDARD condoles with the friends and kindred of both of these old patritrchs, now gone to their eternal rest.
