From The Ogden Standard-Examiner (Ogden, Utah) - Monday, April 9, 1956: SALT LAKE CITY - James W. Ure, 85, formerly of Ogden, died early this morning in a Salt Lake hospital of causes incident to age.
He was born March 31, 1871 in Salt Lake City, a son of James W. and Lucinda Cunningham Ure. He moved to Ogden in 1900. He was employed by John Scowcroft and Sons Co. for more than 40 years. He served as bishop of the Ogden Fifth Ward for 20 years and was a member of the Weber Stake High Council. He moved to Salt Lake City in 1927 and had been active in church work there. He was married to Mabel McCune in 1906 in the Salt Lake City Temple. She died in 1953.
Survivors include the following sons and daughter: Mrs. Ralph W. Pugmire, Ogden; Dr. H.M. Ure, Palos Verdes Estates, California, and James W. Ure III, Salt Lake City.
