James Henry Whitecotton

Son of George Alexander and Mary Zerelda Spalding Whitecotton, James Henry was born in Ralls County, Missouri on June 9, 1854. He was engaged in the practice of law at Paris, MO. He married Zora A. Wilson at Albany, Gentry County, Missouri on May 19, 1879. She was born on Feb. 4, 1858 in Davis County, MO and is the daughter of Andrew Henderson and Mary Hart Wilson.

They had the following children:

Daisy Mary b. in Albany, MO on October 28, 1880 Andrew Tilden b. in Ralls County, MO on Nov. 25, 1882 Elizabeth Morris b. in Paris, MO on Oct. 20, 1888 James Henry, Jr., b in Paris, MO on Aug. 8, 1891

In 1933 all children were living except for James Henry Jr who died at Moberly, MO on Dec. 12, 1918.

James Henry has long been prominent in legal, legislative and political circles in Missouri having served as Speaker of the House of Representatives and State Senator,
