Uit die huwelik tussen Johannes ii en Helena Vosloo, is ses kinders gespruit, vier seuns en twee dogters.

Daarvan het weer die oudste, Johannes iii, die geslag voortgeset, wat ons genl. A. W. J. Pretorius gegee 't. Die ander broers was Gerrit, Wessel en Arnoldus.

Johannes iii, is in 1711 getroud met Johanna Bezuidenhout. Uit hierdie huwelik is sewe kinders gebore: ses seuns, en éen dogter, en dit was die vierde seun, (vyfde kind), Marthinus Wessel, wat bestem was om die vader te word van die beroemde Voortrekker-generaal.

Uit Andries Pretorius deur Gustav Preller versprei deur Colin Pretorius en eGGSA.
