About Jan "John" Łukowicz
Article published in the Saturday, February 9, 1918 issue of the Stevens Point Daily Journal, Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Actual date of death: Friday, February 8, 1918.
John Lukowicz, the man who was injured in a fall on the stairs in the Joseph Bambenek home on Washington avenue Thursday morning, died at St. Michael's hospital at 10 o'clock Friday evening. His advanced age and weakened condition caused by his injury, together with pneumonia, with which he was afflicted, caused his death. The deceased was born in Poland and came to this country in 1861. His exact age is not known, although it is believed that he was upwards of 70.
He was a widower and is survived by one half-brother, Joseph Lukowicz, who resides at Stockton. Several grandchildren, children of August Stoltz of Stockton, also survive.
Mr. Lukowicz had been making his home with the Bambenek family recently. He was for many years a resident of the town of Hull. The funeral will be held in the town of Hull Monday.
