About Jan (John) Palubicki
John married Martina (Marcella) in 1866, and by 1872 they had two young children, Martha, 3 years, and Teophil, 1 year. It appears that the young family boarded a ship called the Bark Agda out of Bremen on May 18, 1872, and sailed to Canada through the port of Quebec. Sadly, Martha died during the 10 week journey.
Shortly after arriving, they made their way to Renfrew where they wintered with Martina's relatives.
Come spring, they ventured up the Opeongo Road to Wilno, with some cows Martina's parents had given them.
John and Martina had 9 children: Martha, Teophil (Philip), Martin, Mary, John, Thomas, Frank, Robert and Walter.
