About Jan Vorster
Jan Vorster (1928 – 2007)
Brief overview:
Jan (79) was brutally attacked and beaten, and slashed with a panga. He was declared brain dead a few days later, and the life support machine was switched off.
Mr. Kobus Greyvenstein (36), Vorster's son-in-law, told Beeld how Vorster fought for his life until the end. "He continued to fight until 4:15 p.m.," he recounts with emotion.
Vorster and his wife Hannetjie (75) were attacked by two robbers at around 01:30 on Friday morning. Hannetjie heard a sound and asked her husband to investigate. He was repeatedly hit in the face and neck with a panga "for no reason".
