Additional Biographical Information:

Today is a very sad day for me and my Family. A year ago my father Jan Hendrik de Kock has been brutally murdered on his farm. Three men came on the early hours of a Sunday morning and waited him in. He was on his way to do the early morning checkup on his cattle. Hi must have suspected something because he went back in the house to get his 9mm hand gun. He went for a ride on the 4weal bike and when he drove back into the barn the 3 men were waiting behind the door and hit him over the head before he could reach for his 9mm. He were then tortured and eventually suffocated by putting plastic bags in his mouth and holding it with a wife around his dead. He were fighting to protect what he worked for his life long and the things he loved "His Wife" and the farm he dearly loved.

It is on days like today where people like me his son Hanno de Kock wonder how can there be a stop put to this endless genocide in South Africa. Today My fathers name is just one of a list of 4012 farmers that have been killed since 1990. To put this figure in context " After 4,486 U.S. soldiers died in Iraq and 2,345 U.S. soldiers died in Afghanistan.
In other words the same amount of farmers have been killed in comparison to US soldiers that were fighting a full blown war in Irak or double as many farmers were killed in comparison the soldiers who died in a full blown war in Afghanistan.

WHO WAS JAN HENDRIK DE KOCK

Jan Hendrik de Kock was the son of Hannes De Kock who were doing transport work with Oxen and wagon to save up money to buy Grootwaag the Farm that his son was murdered on. Jan worked his 70 years on the farm in good and bad seasons trying to make a living for his Wife Marietjie de Kock his three children Stephan Hanno and Christelle de Kock. For me he was a Father and mentor that taught me that farmers is the salt of the earth. He did not mind to get up at 5am to start to plough the field, or work until 9pm to harvest corn to ensure it gets done before the big rain come. He was a very practical person and even build his own grain drier with his own hands. He was a man of values and lived by example by always putting others first and helping everyone he could. He build 8 houses with water for his farm workers and took care of them for his whole life as a farmer. Lucas was one of his workers that lived on the farm for 30 years and raise all his kids on the farm. A man and father like this does not deserve to dye like this!

HOW AND WHO CAN PUT A STOP TO THIS?

This question have come up a million times this year and after spending a lot of time with the SA POLICE, private investigators and a reward of R 200 000.00 we still have not been able to arrest these ruthless murderers! This made me come to the conclusion that the only way that tis can be stopped is by ensuring that the people who are impacted the most by these murders stand up for what is right. This beg to then ask the question. Who is impacted when a murder like this take place?

I will share with you my experience with you. Firstly the direct family is impacted. Marietjie de Kock was saved from this killing by praying Jesus Christ's blood over her body when the men walked into the house and they realized that that 1 John 4:4 KJV is true "1 John 4:4 [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." She however have to live with this scar for the rest of her live and she now have to take care of herself and the farm on her own. Secondly the Children and their spouses of Jan have to find a way to live with this scar and find a way to support Marietjie de Kock. Thirdly the grand children who lived their Grand Pa dearly have to find a way to try to understand who somebody can be so ruthless to kill their loving Grand Pa. Fourthly the neighbors and Petrus Steyn district have to find a way to replace a person who were helping as a Police reservist, an person who were helping to keep the Tennis and Bowling clubs alive, a person that actively supported the old age home, a Neughbour who helped to protect other farmers, kill fire and help to protect cattle agains Jackal and other predators. A person who was a God fearing man and who knew where his strength came from. He who plaid and active role in church.

Five'll the people who are most impacted are the farm workers and their families. A total of 8 houses existed with an average of six family members for each family at some stage. This bring the total of 56 people who will no longer be able to stay on the farm because of the farmer who have been killed on their farm. The murderers do not care about their own people and do not mind if these people end up in a location where they are been robbed of their money that government pay to compensate them for the job loss. According to Statistics SA's Q2Y2012 report about 8.5 million people are directly or indirectly dependent on agriculture. All hope for these 8.5 million will be lost if a stop is not put to this by the government. The unfortunate part is that a fish rot from the head and even after an aggressive effort to get the opposition stronger in prior election did not help. The comando's were intentionally dismantled by government and since then the attacks only increased.

The people who will be most impacted are not aware of this impact and are miss informed. The small group of farmers are not protected and have very limited impact on the government due to their small numbers .

I close off by asking God why did this happen but a year later I came to the realization that God knows everything that will happen and has happens in the world but He is not the one that manipulate the world. If he did the. It would not have been our free to chose the World or Him. And if nothing bad happened to Christians the everybody would have been Christian to get this benefit. No God can only impact the world through Jesus Christ that should be in each of us. Jesus has died for our sin and risen 3 days later the holy spirt was send to us in return. Only if this Holy Spirit can be put in each of the South African harts the God can work through us to bring justice in the creasy and world.

Let each of us make a difference

The murder of Jan de Kock, a well-known farmer from the district, ripped the community. Associates are angry, upset and sad, others find it difficult to express their emotions in words. However, everyone agrees - more needs to be done to ensure farmers' safety and worry-free statements.

At De Kock's farm every possible safety measure was in place. However, on Sunday morning, three attackers attacked him in the warehouse on his farm, tied and murdered. His wife, Marietjie, was locked in the bathroom in the house. The killers fled with his bakkie, several firearms, cash and cell phones.

July 13 2014: Afrikaner farmer Jan de Kock murdered on his Petrus Steyn farm Sunday 13 July 2014, confirms SAPS spokesman:

Petrus Steyn. - The help cries of a farmer's wife, tied up in her home's bathroom, led neighbors to her where they should hear her husband murdered in the warehouse. Jan de Kock, 69, of the farm Groot Waag's body was tied to his quad bike with a tie wire. His wife, Marietjie, is severely shocked, but not injured. Neighbors rushed to the farm on Sunday after De Kock's Ford Ranger double-cab bakkie with the keys in it was left by police in Vereeniging.

De Kock was presumably overwhelmed when he was looking for cattle in the creek on Sunday morning. His attackers were with him back to the farmhouse where his wife was also inundated and tied up.
Gerrie Benadé, a neighbor and good friend, said on Sunday that De Kock was like his own father. He said after the bakkie was found, someone on the farm was going to investigate, but everything was in order. Benadé received a call from a police officer at about 11:30 that confirmed that it was De Kock's bakkie that was found. He spoke to Jan Joubert, their other neighbor, and they rushed to the farm. "When my son arrived, the back door was open. “I thought it was impossible. If the uncle and aunt were not on the farm, they would not have left the back door open. "We heard Tannie Marietjie screaming:" Help me, help me! "After which we got her tied up in the bathroom. “She told me Uncle Jan was dead and was in the warehouse. “I couldn't find him there. Aunt Marietjie and Uncle Jan Joubert were in front of the shed where they found him. ”He said there had been no farm murder in the district for many years. The couple's children came to the farm from Gauteng on Sunday afternoon. Sgt. Police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring said on Sunday afternoon that the information was still low. De Kock, according to the preliminary investigation, was severely assaulted and possibly died of his injuries. There were apparently three attackers. Police were on the scene on Sunday until late in the investigation. He said outside the vehicle, only firearms and cell phones were taken.
