In the name of God. Amen!
This is the last Will and Testament of me Jane CASS, widow of Thomas CASS, late of Wentworth in the County of Durban Colony of Natal, Farmer.
Hereby revoking and annulling all Wills, Codicils or other Testamentary acts heretofore made or executed by me. I give devise and bequeth unto my Grandchildren the lawfully begotton issue of William and Martha CASS of Wentworth aforesaid and of William and Elizabeth WINN also of Wentworth aforesaid the whole of my estate and effects which shall be left by me at my death whether moveable or immovable and of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever situate, or whether the same be in possession, reversion remainder or expectancey, nothing excepted to them jointly in equal shares, share and share alike hereby nominating and appointing them to be my sole and universal heirs.
And I hereby nominate and appoint my son William CASS of Wentworth aforesaid and William CHICK of the Umgeni County of Victoria, Natal, Planter to be the Executors of this my Will and Testament and Administrators of my Estate and Effects, and on and after my demise I direct my said Executors to realise and invest on Mortgage of real property or other good and sufficient security such portion of my said Estate as shall not at my demise be already invested so invested and pay and apply the Interest accruing therefrom during their minority or until he or she shall respectively have attained the full age of twenty one years, for the maintenance of my said grandchildren.
And I further declare my Will to be that my said Executors shall not be required to lodge with the Master of the Supreme Court of the Colony any Inventory or Account of my Estate or Effects or of their Administration thereof. And I further reserve to myself the power from time to time and at all times to make all such alterations in or additions to this my Will as I shall think fit either by a separate act or at foot hereof desiring that all such alterations in or additions so made under my signature shall be held as valid and effectual as if they had been inserted herein.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this Twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy nine in the presence of the Witness George RUSSELL and Alfred BENNETT.

Signed published and declared as and for the last Will and Testament of the said Jane CASS in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other all being present at the same time have hereunto set our hands as Witnesses hereto on the day of the date above written.

By virtue of the reservatory clause contained in my afore written last Will dated the Twentieth day of August 1879 in consequence of the death of William CHICK and the absence from this Colony of my son William, I hereby revoke that portion of my Will appointing the said William CHICK and William CASS as the Executors of Will and the Administrators of my Estate and I do hereby nominate and appoint my friends William CLARK of Durban Wheelwright and Francis WARWICK of Durban Boarding house Keeper to be the Executors of this my Will and Testament and Administrators of my Estate and Effects and in all other respects I do confirm my said Last Will.
Thus done at Durban Natal this Seventh day of May One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty three in the presence of the undersigned Witnesses.

It is hereby certified that the foregoing writing is a true copy in every respect of the Will and Codicil of Jane CASS widow of Thomass CASS of Wentworth in the County of Durban Colony of Natal who died at Wentworth aforesaid on the Third day of November 1889 according to the affidavit of William CASS transmitted with the Will and that the said Will and Codicil were registered on the Twenty second day of November 1889 in this office as a proved Will and Codicil.
Given under my hand this 22nd day of November 1889 at the Office of the Registrar of Deeds of Natal in the city of Pietermaritzburg Natal.
