Jane Dye

Jane Dye was born about 1807 in Mason Co., KY. Her father died in 1817 when she was about age 10. She is listed as an heir in her father's will that was dated March 15, 1817. The will appointed Jonathan Ross as the guardian of Kenneth's children who were not age 21. Jane married Thomas Hook on December 5, 1830 in Mason Co., KY and they had 5 children. Based on birthplaces of their children, they had moved from Kentucky to Indiana by 1832. The family is listed on the 1840 census of Daviess Co., Indiana. Jane Dye Hook died in 1844, probably in Indiana. Her husband Thomas died in 1846. In 1850, 3 of the children were living with Jno & Sarah Hook iin Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana. Children of Jane Dye & Thomas Hook are: Unknown Son (1830-1840), Emily (1832), William (1835), Charlotte (1840) & Sarah (1843).
