About Jane E Shaw

Jane Elizabeth Shaw was the only child of John Lancaster Esq. of Huddersfield. She married Bentley Shaw Esq of Woodfield House, Yorkshire in 1842. . She had a son Robert Bentley Shaw-Yates, born c.1843. She can be traced from the 1851 census, when she was 33, through the 1861 census when she was 43 to the 1871 census (53) & 1881 census (63) She lived at her home Woodfield House, Huddersfield for more than 51 years & died at 76 years old in November 1893.

She died on the 26th November 1893--- her will was proved in the Wakefield District Registry of the Probate Division of Her Majesty's High Court of Justice on the 31st day of March 1894, by John Lancaster Shaw Esq,1845-1928 of Ridgehill, Torquay, in the County of Devon; William Henry Shaw,1846-1917 of Roseden, Longueville, Saint Heliers, in the Island of Jersey; Frederick Arthur Shaw (1854), of Dudley Mansions, Brighton, in the county of Sussex Esquire; and Herbert Lancaster Shaw,(1864) of Ashfield, Ross, in the County of Hereford, Esquire, the executors named in the first codicil, are hereby required to send the particulars in writing of their claims or demands to us the undersigned, Learoyd and Co., on or before the 9th day of June 1894--- Dated this 30th day of April, 1894.
