This gentleman, knight of the body to HENRY VII., was appointed seneschal of Halton, and sheriff of Cheshire, 20 HENRY VII. He had, besides his legitimate issue, (by Sibilla, sister of Richard, son and heir of Thomas Starkey, of Stretton,) Thomas, Richard, and Geoffry, all of whom bore the same family name. He d. 15 HENRY VIII., having m. Jane, dau. of Sir William Stanley, of Holt, chamberlain to the king, and had issue,

The Inq. post mort. after the death of Sir Peter, 4 EDWARD VI., states that he held the tow moieties of Warburton severally from the late Priory of St. John of Jerusalem, and from the heirs of Hugh Boydell, in Soccage, also the manors of Aston-justa-Piermere, Budworth, and Sutton, lands in Aston, Budworth, Sall, Over Tabley, Nether Tabley, Comberbach, Sutton, Hatton, Stretton, Nether Walter, Appleton, Bradley, Stockton, Hull, Lymone, Ughtrington, Reddish, three acres of land called Baernes, with the advowson of Lymme, and lands in Leigh Newton, Happisford, Bollington, Norcotes, Mere, and Chester. He d. 5 June, 4 EDWARD VI., leaving issue,
