Janet Lessells Amies

Biography

Janet Lessells Hay was born on October 25, 1863, at Primrose Hill, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.[1] Her parents were Charles Hay and Elizabeth Dunlop.[2][3]

Janet married Albert Robert Amies on October 29, 1884, in the home of Charles Hay, Halfway Bush, Dunedin.[3] Together they had the following children: Lillian Jessie Portis;[4] May Elizabeth Amies;[5] Albert Charles Amies;[6] Daisy Beatrice Robertson;[7] George Henry Amies;[8] Ivy Charlotte Latimer;[9] Rose Olive Poole;[10] Myrtle Florence Amies;[11] Olive Irvine Maindonald.[12]

She died on July 8, 1944, in Oamaru[13][14] and was buried in Oamaru Old Cemetery.[15]
