Jantje / Jane Tilstra

In June 1900 Jennie Rietveld (21 y, born in June 1879 in Illinois) lived with her father Cornelius Rietveld (50, January 1850, Netherlands, farmer), her mother Maria (44, November 1856, Illinois) and ten younger siblings, all born in Illinois, at an own farm in Homewood village, Thornton Township, just south of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

Jennie Rietveld married on 4 December 1902 in South Holland, a Dutch truck farmers settlement, just south of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois at the age of 23 years to the three years older Albert Tilstra.

Jennie Rietveld and Albert Tilstra had in South Holland on 7 July 1912 and 11 April 1918 the daughters Bessie Margaret and Marian Evelyn.

In September 1918 the family of merchant Albert Robert Tilstra was living at 15722 State in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois.

In 1930 Jennie (50 y, born in Illinois), her husband Albert R Tilstra (53, Holland), their daughters Bessie M (17, Illinois) and Marion E (11, Illinois) lived in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois.

In April 1940 Jane (60), her husband Albert Tilstra (62, no occupation) and their daughter Marion (22, teacher at a public school) lived at an own home, worth $3500, at South Park in -still- South Holland, Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois. They lived in 1935 at the same house.

Her husband Albert Tilstra died in 1956 at the age of about 79 years, very probably in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois. Jane, born on 8 June 1879, died in January 1967 at the age of 87 years, probably at her last residence place South Holland too.
