Biographical Summary

Jane Maitland was born on 7 December 1703 at Berwick, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of James Maitland, Viscount Maitland and Lady Jean Sutherland.1 She was baptised on 13 December 1703 at Lauder, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.2

A contract for the marriage of Jane Maitland and Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 2nd Bt. was signed on 8 September 1726.1 She died on 29 March 1766 at age 62.3 She was buried at Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2. Her married name became Fergusson.
