!CENSUS: 1671 Port Royal, Acadia, age 32 years, mentioned i n parents' entry as married, name spelled Jehan TERRIAU. [W here was he living? Not on the Port Royal census of that ye ar in an entry of his own. Out of area?] MARRIAGE: Because he was alive and married in 1671, accordi ng to parents census entry, could he have gone back to Fran ce, as fisherman, trader, soldier? Could he have had a so n Germain [one of his three brothers was named Germain], bo rn around 1660, when Jean would have been around age 21, wh o married Anne GUILLOTE? This couple had a son named Guy TH E'RIAULT/TERRIOT ditGRANDMAISON born about 1683 at Bourg-C harents, archbishopric of Cognac, Bishopric Saintes, in Ang oumois [today Charente], France. This Guy returned [?] to F rench Canada, and he was 30 years old in1713 when he marri ed Marie-Anne POULIN on 3 Feb 1713 at Ste-Famille, Isle o f Orleans, Quebec. They had eight children listed in Rene ' Jette', DICTIONNAIRE GENEALOGIQUE DES FAMILLES DU QUEBE C DES ORIGINIES A 1730; Univ. Montreal Presses, 1983; p. 10 72. This is the only THERIAULT family listed. Among this Gu y's 8 children, some appear to have married girls who had b een born in Acadia. This would seem to imply continued cont act with and relationship with Acadia.
