    Jean Wemyss was the daughter of David Wemyss, 2nd Earl of Wemyss and Hon. Anna Balfour.1 She married, firstly, Archibald Douglas, Earl of Angus, son of William Douglas, 1st Marquess of Douglas and Hon. Margaret Hamilton, on 26 April 1649.1 She married, secondly, George Gordon, 15th Earl of Sutherland, son of John Gordon, 14th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Drummond, on 11 August 1659.1 She died on 5 January 1715.2

Jean Wemyss was also known as Jean Charteris. From 26 April 1649, her married name became Douglas. From 11 August 1659, her married name became Gordon.
