RESIDENCE: Moved to SC after marriage. Jemima and Thomas were in the Abbeville District S./C. with her brothers and purchased several pieces of property there.

WILL OF LEONARD DOZIER III: Lunenburg County, VA 1785 In the name of God, Amen Last Will and Testament of Leonard Dozer of the County of Lunenburg and Parrish of Cumberland being in perfect senses praise being to Almighty God for the same, I commit my soul to Almighty God my Creator wherein and through the merits of Christ Jesus my blessed Savior and Redemeer I hope to have part in the resurrection of the just. My body I commit to be decently buried as my executors hereafter named shall see convenient, and as to my worldly goods which God has been pleased to give me I give as followeth, my just debts being first paid, Item, I give to my son John Dozer forty pounds cash and one feather bed and his_in. Item 1 give to my son James Dozer two children, not knowing their names, one of them a feather bed and furniture the other ten pounds cash. Item, I give to grand daughter Beckey Scott one bed and furniture and one womans saddle and bridle, and to my grandson Robert Scott ten pounds cash. Item I give to my son Richard Mark Dozer one feather bed and furniture and one cow and calf and one negro boy named Ned, the rest of my negroes I leave to be sold with my household furniture and stock for ready cash and the money equally to be divided amongst my other children hereafter named - Susanna Barry, William Dozer, Jeminah Scott, Kezia Crymes and Thomas Dozer the land whereon I now live I leave to be sold for a twelve months credit the money to be divided amongst my five last children above mentioned. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of January one thousand seven hundred and eighty-five.   • At a Court held for Lunenburg County the 1st day of May 1785 . The within last will and testament of Leonard Dozer, decd., was exhibited in Court by William Dozer and Thomas Scott two of the executors therein named, was proved by the oaths of two of the witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded (and on motion of the said executors) who made oath according to law, certificate is granted them for obtaining probate of the said will in due form, they giving security. Whereupon they together with David Abnathy and William Scott their security entered into and acknowledged bond according to law. Teste: Wm. Taylor CC Recorded: Will Book No. 3 Page 208
