In 1880 Census PA - age listed as 24 - hence she was born in 1856. Living with parents on 11 Scott St.
In "The Social Mirror" of 1888 pg. 34 ("Gifted Women" notes):
"Miss Jennie Patterson, daughter of Professor Patterson, highly intellectual, cultured, classically educated with yet a warm appreciation of the popular taste, is peculiarly fitted for the position she has recently accepted on the Presbyterian Banner. Miss Patterson’s department includes the selection of miscellaneous matter and the acceptance or rejection of short stories. The pages under her supervision have noticeably brightened during her incumbency."
In obituary of brother Harvey 1908 - news article said she lived in his home. Assume she was a spinster.
1900 US Census lists Jennie W. living with her mother Eliza F. in Wilkinsburg Ward 3, Allegheny, PA - lived at 311 Mifflin Ave. She is 41 - no occupation listed. There is a clue about father Robert W. who is dead by now. His birth place is listed as being MA.
In 1930 census, Jennie (75 yrs.) is living at 402 Atlantic Ave. with sister-in-law Anna (Annie) Dickson Patterson (69 yrs.) - widow of Harvey Sharp Patterson Sr., Samuel H. Stover (42 yrs - son-in-law of Anna's) & Marjorie (32 yrs.) , Samuel's wife, Anna's daughter.
