Jeremy Goodrich, son of John Goodrich and Margerie Howe, was baptized at St. Mary parish in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England on 24 Jun 1627 as Jeremiah Goodrich, yet in the limited records of him after his baptism he is always referred to as Jeremy Goodrich.

The only known records of Jeremy after his baptism and his being named in the 14 Apr 1632 will of his father, John Goodrich, include a record soon after his decease, dated 10 Aug 1663, by which his older brother, Rev. William Goodrich, became legal guardian of an orphaned infant son, William Goodrich, of Jeremy Goodrich of Bury St. Edmunds with an unknown wife who survived Jeremy very briefly, yet also died before 10 Aug 1663.

Rev. William Goodrich was later granted administration when his nephew William Goodrich died before 19 May 1665 in Cranbrook, Kent, England.

It is possible, though there are currently no known records for corroboration, that once the immigrant John Goodrich of Wethersfield, CT (1618-1680) reached his age of majority in 1639 and acquired the properties in Hessett, Bury St. Edmunds and Horningsheath (Horringer), bequeathed to him in the 14 Apr 1632 will of their father John Goodrich the Clothier, that his younger brother Jeremy Goodrich became, eventually and incrementally, a manager of these properties as Jeremy reached age 21 in 1648, and then acquired the £100 bequeathed to him in the will of their father, since John Goodrich and his younger brother William Goodrich remained in Wethersfield where they lived out their lives.
