Jerry M. Troyer, son of Michael and Barbara Miller Troyer, was born in Holmes County, Ohio July 17, 1843: died at his home near Shipshewana, Indiana Aug 9, 1927: aged 84y 22d. He was married to Susanna Schlabach Apr 10, 1862, who preceded him in death Aug 10, 1881. He was again married to Eva Mast Feb 5, 1882. He was the father of twenty children, of whom four preceded him in death. There were 11 children by his first marriage, namely: Mary, deceased: John of Abbyville, Kansas: Abe, deceased: Fanny and Barbara of Hutchinson, Kansas: Jake of Goodville, Pennsylvania: Sam of Millersburg, Ohio: Calvin of LaGrange, Indiana: Mike of Carlton, Nebraska: Jerry of Denver, Colorado: Jeroma, deceased. By his second marriage were born Adam of Howe, Indiana: Amandus and Dan of Sturgis, Michigan: Sarah of Shipshewana, Indiana: James of LaGrange, Indiana: Mattie of Topeka, Indiana: Charles of Shipshewana, Indiana: Oliver of Howe, Indiana: and one son who died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, 12 sons 4 daughters, 100 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren. 1 brother, Jacob, of Hutchinson, Kansas and a host of relatives and friends. He united with the Mennonite church in the early part of his life, retaining this fellowship with the believers until his death. The funeral was held at Shore Mennonite church in charge of O S Hostetler and Y C Miller. .
