Lockley, Jessie (née Miller), 1888-1987 [twin of James] "Born at Ōhaupō in the Waikato on 16 June 1888. Jessie was 16-year-old when married Henry Edward Lockley at Taungatara in Taranaki on 7 June 1905. She died at Hāwera Hospital on 3 May 1987 at the age of 98 and was buried in Ōpunake Cemetery." NZBDM Marriage: 1905/5197 Jessie Anderson Miller & Henry Edward Lockley
Jessie & her brother James Birth's were Registered as 16 June 1888 by their father on 3 July 1888 & the hand written Birth Registration's state Jessie is the Elder of Twins her brother James the Younger of Twins. Although the Birth Year on James hand written Birth Registration is not clear. Jessie always celebrated her birthday on the 27 December. We were to believe her birth date was the 27 December, 1886. This birth date is stated on several documents although we have not been able to locate her original hand written Birth Certificate. Jessie celebrated a 100th Birthday in Hawera, Taranaki, North Island, New Zealand in 1986. She received a Telegram from Queen Elizabeth @ Buckingham Palace, she also received Telegrams from David Lange, Peter Tapsell (Minister Of Internal Affairs), Venn Young, Paul Reeves (Governor General) all congratulating her on the 100th Birthday & several stamped with December 1986 date stamps. Jessie introduced Ellen into her middle name sometime after the birth of her second child. Or possibly before.
