James W. Dye
Albany - Rosary for James William Dye, 24, of 1539 Lincoln St., who died Friday in a motorcycle accident, will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at Aasum mortuary and mass 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rev. Norbert Novak officiating. Interment will be in Knox Butte Cemetery.
Born in Roseburg, Dye came to Albany in 1950 and attended schools here. He ws employed s a machinist the past three years at a local metal firm. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Machinist & Aero Space and Mystic Milers Four-Wheel Drive Club.
Surviving are widow Angie, children Jamie and Lanny, at home; brother Bill, sisters Partty and Luanne Dye, Albany, and Jeannette Turino, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; parents Mr. and Mrs. James A. Dye and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Keiffer, all of Albany.

2 Cycles Collide, Both Riders Die
Albany, Ore. - Two albany men were killed Friday night when their motorcycles collided headon on a county rod in North Albany.
State police said the victims, James William Dye, 24, of 4605 San Felicia Ave., and Michael Francis Serrao, 20, 564 N. Nebergall Loop road, were dead at the scene of the 8:25 p.m. accident.
Police said neither motorcycle was equipped with any kind of lights and both were apparently traveling at a high rate of speed when they collided on N. Nebergall Loop road. Neither victim was wearing a crash helmet, they added.
Police said the men, apparently friends, had been seen together about 10 minutes before the accident.
The deaths were the 11th and 12th traffic fatalities this year in Benton County and brought the 1972 toll to 137 in the five counties of the Mid-Willamette Valley.
Both bodies were taken to Aasum mortuary.
