Joanna Davis was the daughter of Matthew Davis and Margaret Corbin Davis. She was born in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut on October 22, 1696. She married Edward Ainsworth Jr. on April 2, 1722. They had five children. She died April 25, 1753 in Woodstock, Windham County, Connecticut. Edward Ainsworth (b c.1652 d Mar 5 1740/1 aged about 89) and wife Johanna settled 1st in Roxbury, Mass and then in Woodstock, CT about 1702. Johanna the widow of Mr Edward Ainsworth died Dec 23, 1748 age 79.

Their son (among other children) Edward b Aug 18 1693 in Roxbury died in Woodstock June 16th 1758 and had married Joanna Davis of Pomfret Apr 5, 1722. She was born Oct 22, 1696 and died Apr 25 1753. Edward the 2nd and Joanna Davis Ainsworth had a third Edward (among others) b Nov 21 1729, d in 1806 in NH. He married 1st Kesia Corbin on 5/22/1755 she d Dec 1 1756, and Edward married 2nd Sybil Child in 1758.

Unfortunately none of these dates for Edward Ainsworth agrees with the date of June 15, 1755. [2] See the detail photo at Edward Ainsworth II on the tombstone for Edward Ainsworth found in this cemetery. There may be an error on the stone or in the town records. [3]
