His will was made at Providence, his home at Middletown, Rhode Island, being then in possession of the British. He calls himself of "advanced age." He owned a large farm in Tiverton and another at Middletown. His wife was Mary, daughter of Lawrence Turner of Newport. Children in the order mentioned in his will:
Silas, born 1731, died February 28, 1820;
Giles, Enos, married Ann Hovey, he was a soldier of the revolution, private of Colonel Robert Elliott's regiment, 1776;
George, born in Rhode Island (Middletown most likely) about 1736, he resided in Tiverton, Rhode Island, until 1794, when he joined with a colony of Tiverton and Little Compton families that settled in Madison and Saratoga counties, New York;
