Joel Bird Hembree Jr was said to have been born in S.C. and came to Roane County Tennessee with his parents possibly before 1814. The Roane County Tax list for 1814 lists three Joel Hembree's ,a Benjamin Hembree and a Zachareus Hembree. Didn't find a Hembree in 1805 tax lists.
Joel Bird Hembree Jr married Sally(Sarah) Wilhite, D/O Elijah Wilhite in Roane Co, Tn Jan 1830. Sometime after 1850 they moved to MO. The first mention I found of them in MO was from HISTORY OF HICKORY, POLK, CEDAR, DADE AND BARTON COUNTIES, MISSOURI 1889, published by Goodspeed

I don't know when Sally (Sarah) died, hope someone finds those dates, and will share the information with us all. I found a Sarah Hembree living with her Daughter Sarah Hembree Tate in 1880, in Boone, Wright, Missouri. Not proven , but it could be our Sarah Hembree
