According to Gert Kok, KOK-family researcher, Maria Elisabeth HAUMAN was married to Johan ANDRIES Kok, brother of Johan GODFRIED Kok. I quote from a private email exchange earlier this year:
Johan Godfried KOK is, sover ek kon vasstel, nooit getroud nie.
Maria Elizabeth HAUMAN is met sy broer, Johan Andries KOK getroud.Die bogenoemde verwarring tussen watter broer met HAUMAN getroud was, kom uit die oorspronklike CC De Villiers - navorsing in die laat 19e eeu (soos gepubliseer in De Oude Kaapsche Familien Vol. II in 1884). Hierin het hy die fout gemaak. Ek vermoed hy het Johan Andries se doop-inskrywing gemis omdat hulle van by daardie inskrywing as COK opgeskryf is. Johan Godfried was dus die beste kandidaat vir die latere huweliks-inskrywing. Hierdie fout is in baie bronne sedertdien herhaal.
Die vernoemings-patrone dui ook eerder op Johan Andries as vader. Die kersie op die koek is dat Johan Godfried in 1786 as doopgetuie optree by die doop van Johan Andries en Maria Elizabeth HAUMAN se oudste seun.
