Johan was over to USA working there fore some years. There were two persons living at close distance to each other, both wearing the same name. That´s why Johan Holmström chose to change his name. Wanting to save one part of the original family name he left holm (means little island) and added an american valuable tree Ceder to it. So his new name was Cederholm to go further to his sons and to their daughters as my mother Frida (who is the last one still living once been a Cederholm of this branch of the American Paulin-tree.
Johan got a son, born in USA but the son died. Johan and his wife got the mine lung disease and decided to move back to Finland, where they both died within one year after arriving home, leaving my grand pa without parents at an age of five. He had to grow up at his aunt´s house until adult age at Åkerbergs house on Norrändan, Rejpelt village in Vörå. That child, Alfred was my story teller, my drawing master and grand pa but died when I was seven years old. All his painting equipments he testamented to me, his only male relative in the house and real friend. I still take care of his drawing equipments.
