Perhe muuttanut Amerikkoihin Aini Marian kuoleman, v.1903 jälkeen mutta ennen v.1906 jolloin Elaine (Selma) syntyi Minnesotassa.

This would be at intervals when he had fits of some kind. He was extremely powerful. This story about him: Once he was shackled to the house wall in summer. The grainary, a building about 8' x 10'bt about 10' caught on fire. Nobody home but John, about 18 then and his mother and the younger girls (3) all under 10. John pleaded to be released so he could knock the grainary over to keep the barn from catching fire. She did (with mixed emotions & fear). He alone, shoved the granary over, put out the fire and run away. He returned a few days later. I heard it in Finland also when I visited the old home place.

Uncle John married Eva. They moved to Jacobson Minnesota in about 1903? They had six children, 2 died in infancy and are burried in Ball Bluff Cemetery. Graves marked by crosses. The other 4 were Selma (Elaine), Bill, Elmer (Tuggy) and Aili. All but Aili are dead.

John Rostedt's wife died in 1928. He went to Finland, met Saima, married her in 1930, came to the U.S. in early spring of 1931 and they started the hotel which had been closed 3 years. He was 59, she was 32. (?)"
