The Swedish-American Museum in Philadelphia is located on Sven Skute's land. Sven's land is located near the Gynedd Monthly Meeting site, where our furst records of the Adamson line begins. With John Bowles he obtained 400 acres on theSchuylkill above Aronameck in 1680 and made this his home until hisdeath in 1722. . . There were four persons in the household in 1693. Note from the article on Captain Skute by Dr. Craig: Johan moved further up the Schuylkill to lands bought from the Indians by William Warner, Sr., at Nitapkung (present Fairmount Park). Awarden and trustee of Gloria Dei, he had three known children. Thesurname continued with his son Jacob as the name Schooten. Note from Bill Holt: John's land "above Aronameck on the west side of the Schuylkill"granted in 1677 and 1678 (and therefore by the English) was probablypart of that originally granted to Sven by Queen Christina.
