About Johann Wilhelm Casselman, Sr.

He was Baptized at upper German Colonies as recorded at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, West Camp, NY.

In 1734, he received a share in the Second Division of the Stone Arabia patent in Albany Co., NY. (possibly as an heir to part of his father's original patent.) In Jan. of 1741/42, he sold his 28th share in Stone Arabia.

In 1760, he is listed in Capt. Christopher Yate's Company of NY Militia as age 50, 5'7", a laborer born in Albany Co.

In 1777-1788, Severinus, Wihelm, Werner, and Christian, the sons of Wilhelm, who were Loyalists during the Revolution, had their property in NY confiscated and they went to Canada. Researchers report that some of these, and/or their descendants returned to the NY area after the Revolution.
