According to The Hagey Families in America by King Albert Hagey and William Anderson Hagey (p.138), land was set aside on Martin Hagey's plantation 'Fairview' for a graveyard where Martin and many of his descendants are buried.
The authors give the inscription on Martin's tombstone as:
Sacred In Memory of Martin Hagey Departed This Life January 1, 1812 Aged 75 Yrs 11 Mos. 17 Days

In 1774, Martin purchased from William Newell of Frederick Co, VA, tract of more than 200 acres on Cedar Creek, the dividing line of Shenandoah Co. Continued to livin in Lancaster Co for ensuing 5 years. Spring of 1770, Martin and family moved to new home in Shenandoah Vlley, located 7 miles north of Stovertown, now Strasburg, VA and one mile west of present Middletown (stone house still standing on Cedar Creek 1951) (p.136)
Soon after 1793, Martin sold land and made prepartions to move to southwest VA. Said to have gone first to Pittsylvania Co, VA, but remained only short period of time, although no evidence. Removed to Washington Co and settled on 15 Mile Creek, where he est. third home. Started in 1798 construction of "Fairview" (p.137)
Martin was earliest(?) land holder of Wolf Hill Tract, part of Dr. Thomas Walker's grant, when he purchased by 2 deeds dated August 20 1800, more than 800 acres, 1/7 of entire grant (Hagey Families in Amierca p.138 quoting Washington Co. records, Deed book 2, p 318-319)
in 1806 Washington Co VA Personal Property Tax lists (Lower District), Martin Hagy is listed with 3 whites, and 7 horses, no slaves.
