41 Jacob, the son of Guttorm Jakobson Hegg (10) and Ingeborg Gullaksdtr. Borlo, was born on March 4, 1860 in Laerdal Township. Jacob and his younger brother, Knut, emigrated on the American Line to the United States on April 24, 1881. Their parents and the remaining brothers and sisters emigrated in 1882. Jacob’s uncle, Ole Jacobson, married Johanna’s sister, Kari. Jacob joined the Greenwood Church in 1883. Jacob was married on January 3, 1887 in Greenwood Township, Vernon County to Johanna Einarsdtr. Nelson. Jacob was 27 and Johanne was 23. The witnesses were John Anderson and Anna G. Hegg (Greenwood Church record). Johanne (Johanna) Nelson, the daughter of Einar Nelson Kvame and Guri Paulsdatter Sprakehaugen, was born on August 19, 1863 in Perry Township, Dane County, Wisconsin.
