Johanna was born about 1612.
Research Notes
Johanna's maiden name is unknown. She was the widow of Simon Boyer and married the widower George Munnings(married by 1657).[1] After he passed away in 1658 she married a third time. This marriage occurred on the 21st of Sep 1659 in Boston to John Laughton.[2][3]
Johanna's birth date is unknown. An estimated birth date is set as 1612 for now, considering she was of child-bearing age in 1655, and a widow. More research will have to be done to determine the actual date.
Johanna married her third husband, John Leighton/Lawton/Laughton on 21 Sep in Boston.[4]
Her first husband, Simon Boyer, was listed in Colonial State Papers with 'Names of those who have not paid their adventure for Frobisher's third voyage to the North-west.' [5]
There was a Hannah Boyer, no date listed, that came to Colonial Massachusetts as a 'Convict Servant Woman... about 23 years of age. Pitted much with Small Pox, has a Scar in one of her Eye Brows, not very tall, but strong, fresh colour'd, robust, masculine Wench.'[6]
