Johanna Townley

In 1870 to 1873 Johanna Stoney of Templemore received approval from the Lord Lieutenant for renewal of a publican's licence - Petty Sessions Court Registers. In Slater's Royal National Commercial Directory of Ireland, 1870, Johanna Stoney is listed as a car proprietor and inn proprietor in George Street, Templemore. When she married John Townley on 11 August 1875 as Joanna Stoney she was described as a hotel keeper, daughter of George Stoney, a hotel keeper. When she died on 18 January 1918 she was described as married and a hotel proprietor.
