"Johannes Brombach, chr. Mar. 27 1653, d. at Muesen April 13, 1714, m. Nov. 30, 1682 Anna Margareta Kemper (b. 1658, d. Sept. 13, 1733), daughter of John Kemper and his wife Anna Loew, and aunt of John Kemper, the 1714 Virginia immigrant (see chapter on the Kemper family). The Muesen baptismal register shows the christenings of 7 children of Johannes and Anna Magaretha Brombach, but do not show the christening of either Melchior Brombach, the 1714 immigrant to Virginia, nor his brother, Caspar Brombach, who petitioned for a remission of Melcior's fine in 1714. However, the two petitions of Caspar Brombach and his mother, Margareta, in 1713 and 1714 reegarding the emigrant, prove that Caspar and Melchior were sons of Margarets, probably born ca 1685-7, judging by the baptismal dates of the other children."
My colleague, Dr. Katharine Brown, and I, found the two petitions noted above at the Siegen Archives regarding the fines imposed against Melchior Brombach's mother, Anna Margareta Brombach, and his brother, Caspar Brombach, on 2 Jul 1714 and 4 Dec 1713, respectively.
