He met CATHERINE HORN October 19, 1795 in Wash. Cty, Pa Church records list her a consort of John Dague, daughter of CHRISTOPHER HORN. She was born December 22, 1774 in Washington Cty, PA, and died April 19, 1842 in Wash Cty PA- 67 yr., 4 mo., 27 Days.

The story is told that when Frederick Deg moved his family from Lancaster

to Washington Cty, John made the trip in a sack across the back of a pack

animal. John rec'd 7 shillings and six pence from his fathers will. John also rec'd 141 acres of his fathers home place. He operated a still and stored up to a hundred barrels of whiskey at a time.
